That is why we implement our business strategy in a responsible and sustainable way. We make every decision after analysing economic, social and environmental factors. We are aware that we are responsible for our employees and customers, to whom we want to provide the best conditions for cooperation.

Values #optimism #unconventional #commitment #cooperation #resourcefulness

Optimism and a positive outlook on the world build a friendly working atmosphere at Nest Bank. By constantly looking for new inspiration and striving for better solutions, we go outside the box, thus emphasising our unconventional attitude. Our recipe for success is to put our heart into what we do, which is why commitment is one of our key values. We believe that respect, trust and a sense of responsibility for the group are key conditions for effective cooperation. Numerous successes and dynamic development of the organisation is due to our employees, who, thanks to their resourcefulness, are able to find the righty solutions in any situation.
Employees

At Nest Bank, we focus on cooperation, respect and open communication. We all deserve equal and fair treatment, comfortable working conditions and the freedom to express our opinions. We build our organisational culture together by taking an active part in making decisions regarding working conditions.

We provide equal opportunities to all candidates participating in the recruitment process. We guarantee employees equal development and promotion opportunities within the organisation, including adopting management positions. Decisions regarding employment and working conditions are not impacted by the candidate's age, sex, origin, skin colour, health, nationality, disability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other personal characteristic not related to professional qualifications.

We oppose all forms of discrimination, actively counteract them and take numerous measures aimed at ensuring a tolerant, safe and friendly workplace. On a daily basis, we build our employees' awareness in terms of diversity and teach them the right attitudes towards behaviours that discriminate against minorities and violate human dignity. Every employee participates in a training on the prevention of mobbing and discrimination and in a training on respect for diversity. We have a dedicated procedure for reporting violations ensuring the anonymity of the person reporting. We provide protection to all people reporting a violation or a suspected violation. Any report regarding a violation of rights or dignity of the employees is thoroughly verified by an Anti-Mobbing Commission, established specifically for this purpose. We guarantee fairness and impartiality of the investigation.

We respect the right of employees to organise and form or join employee organisations. We provide comfortable and safe working conditions, guarantee compliance with applicable labour law and offer fair salary.

Code of Conduct
Nest Bank's Code of Conduct was designed by our employees who, on a daily basis, create procedures, internal instructions and thereby business and ethical culture of Nest Bank. The Code contains a collection of good practice as well as business and ethical norms applicable in our bank, concerning conducting business, respecting human rights as well as environmental responsibility.
Providers’ Code of Conduct
The code sets out the most important ethical, social and environmental principles. We expect our providers to strictly adhere to them. We have created the code because we want all our providers to be conscious and socially responsible business counterparties. Each participant in our tender procedure (the tenderer) is obliged to read the Providers' Code of Conduct and attach a statement regarding compliance with its provisions to the tender documentation. We choose our providers based on equal opportunities and based on objective criteria. We cooperate with providers in an open and fair manner, adhering to the terms of the concluded agreements.
Society and human rights
Dignity and respect for others are the pillars of our organisational culture. We respect human rights and expect the same from our employees, providers, business partners and customers. We strongly oppose forced labour and exploiting children for work. If we decide to employ a minor, the terms of this cooperation are specified in Nest Bank's Labour Regulations. We don’t establish cooperation with providers and other entities who don’t respect human rights. We don’t fund any activity under which forced labour or child labour, contrary to the law provisions in Poland, is used.
Natural environment
We believe that the actions we take regarding our daily work can significantly contribute to sustainable development in the world. One of the criteria for selecting a new location for the bank's headquarters or branches are building certificates regarding their environmental friendliness (BREEM, LEED). An important issue is also the transport infrastructure facilitating commuting to work by public transport or bicycle. We continuously optimise our processes in order to reduce the consumption of resources and plastics. We have already implemented many initiatives in this regard, including the minimisation of colour printing and implementation of electronic document circulation, electronic tickets and automatic double-sided printing. We also persistently limit the traditional paper methods of communicating with our customers.

Initiatives in which we participated
Gold Medal EcoVadis 2023

The bank received the EcoVadis Gold Medal for 2023. EcoVadis is an international audit assessing sustainability practices in the areas of corporate social responsibility, environmental protection, and sustainable procurement. Nest Bank achieved high scores in all these areas, placing it among the top 5% of companies rated in the survey.

„Bikes for Kids”

In 2023, the Bank continued its participation in the “ALL4Kids – Charity Race” campaign. In May 2023, as a part of collaborating with the AMP Futbol Association, the Bank’s employees took part in the “Charity Race 2023” bike and run challenge. The goal of the campaign was to raise funds for organizing development workshops – sport camps for the Association wards – children with disabilities. The camps arranged by the Amp Futbol Association are aimed not only at involving children with disability in sports activities, but also their integration with peers. It is an initiative of great social value that gives young people the opportunity to break down barriers, develop skills and build a sense of belonging to the community.

As part of the campaign, we donated for this aim an amount equal to the number of kilometers run and rode by bike during the campaign by employees representing us in the challenge. Every employee could also support the campaign by donating funds to the moneybox of the Association on the www.siepomaga.pl website. Two Nest! employee teams participated in the campaign (a total of 10 people), winning 4,263 points. This achievement translated directly into financial support – Nest Bank transferred the equivalent of the points obtained, i.e. PLN 4,263 to the Association.

Polish Bank Association's simple language declaration

We have joined the working group on simple language under Polish Bank Association, and we are involved in the work on good practice of simple bank communication. We have also signed the declaration of banks regarding the standard of simple language, and we still take part in the work on perfecting the rules of simple bank communication.

"Bankers for Education"

We are involved in a program organised by Polish Bank Association in cooperation with the Banking Cybersecurity Centre. The main activity carried out under the program is an educational campaign in the field of cybersecurity, safe use of electronic banking and online stores, popularisation of cashless payments and of the role of settlement agents. The campaign is targeted at people who don’t have sufficient knowledge about cybersecurity, including those who are digitally excluded. As part of the campaign, a series of films were recorded, in which the popular Polish journalist and singer Artur Andrus talks about issues related to protecting money.

TOP Women in e-business

is a nationwide educational and development program for women. The TOP Women in e-business program is dedicated to women from all over Poland, from villages, small towns and large cities who have access to the Internet. In 2021, we became a partner of the program, and we support its implementation.

Bankers for Education: The "BAKCYL" project

We cooperate with the Warsaw Institute of Banking on the BAKCYL (here translatable as "/being/ hook/ed/") project. The program aims to educate seniors and the young generation of Poles on responsible and rational financial management. Our employees conduct lessons in schools and lectures for seniors as a part of voluntary service.

"Two Hours for the Family"

Every year, we participate in the "Two Hours for the Family" campaign. It is a project coordinated by the Humanities Institute. The action aims to strengthen family relations and emphasise the importance of the family in every person's life.
All partner companies taking part in the event celebrate International Day of Families (May 15), reducing the working time of all their employees by 2 hours in a chosen day.

The additional two hours can be used for outdoor play, walking with loved ones, cycling excursion, playing football or badminton. There are numerous options. It is important to spend this time with loved ones.

"Become a Santa Claus"

campaign organised by us in association with foundations supporting children from orphanages and poor families. Every December, children who are in foundation's care write letters to Santa Claus. Letters go to our employees who fulfil the Christmas wishes written in them.

Since the beginning of the campaign (2016), our employees with big hearts have fulfilled the dreams of over 300 children.

We adhere to the 10 principles of sustainable development of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC):
  1. To respect and support the protection of internationally recognised human rights

  2. To eliminate all violations of human rights by the company

  3. To support freedom of association and in effect recognise the right to collective bargaining

  4. To support the elimination of all forms of slavery and forced labour

  5. To contribute to the effective abolition of child labour

  6. To prevent discrimination in employment

  7. To support a preventive approach to environmental problems

  8. To take initiatives propagating greater environmental responsibility

  9. To support the development and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies

  10. To prevent corruption in all its forms, including bribery and extortion

Since October 2021, we have been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) - a leading initiative for the development, implementation and dissemination of responsible and sustainable corporate policy. As part of our cooperation, we are committed to take measures supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
